The goal of the workshop is to learn the basic elements and tasks involved in the cinematographic language so as to finish the workshop with the production of a short documentary of about 15 minutes that will be publicly shown.
The workshop will be carried out as an intensive theoretical and practical course of a month. It is orientated to every person who is interested in documentary films and would like to initiate in its practice. No previous knowledge nor special equipment are needed.
Lodging and accommodation will be at family houses so as to facilitate and deepen a fast cultural integration.
Classes will be held three times a week from 10 to 1. Practical exercises will be held after 3 pm. Three evenings per week we will see classical Latin American documentary films in which different directors and teachers will be invited so as to analyze in depth each of the films.
As part of the workshop dynamics the practical tasks will be also viewed collectively.
Classes will be held in Spanish with simultaneous translation into English.
During the weekends there will be cultural and recreation activities. Visits to different experiences of popular organization will also be organized. This time may also be used in other tasks of filming or production.
The workshop will be fulfilled with thematic conferences related to new technologies, counter information, recent history of Argentina and other Latin American countries, etc
Once the students return to their countries they will still have the on-line advice of the workshop coordinators.
