CONCEPTUAL SUPPORT

Audiovisual language, first through the invention of cinema and then through TV, has become part of every social practice. From those early circus performances by the Lumiere brothers up to TV, the audiovisual experience has become an important part of our lives. This audiovisual saturation has influenced the ways of knowing and communication among people.

Nowadays it is impossible to think of institutions as those in which the political powers are held without understanding the basic principles of audiovisual language, specially their instrumentation through the television device. The vast majority of the people acquire almost all the information that determines their acts -both banal and transcendental- from TV.

This workshop hopes to become an academic tool, both theoretical and practical, to understand and manage this new language by the students.

Goals.

-Initiate the students in managing the audiovisual language through practice.

-Make the audiovisual approach to the context surrounding the students possible through production of documentary short film.

- Open a reflection area about the audiovisual messages ant their influence in ordinary life, analyzing cinema and TV in particular
